Understanding Bonus Hunt vs. Quota Hunt
What is the difference between a bonus hunt and a quota draw? When to apply for each.
Georgia offers both, and the difference matters when you're planning your season.
Quota hunts
Quota hunts limit the number of hunters on a given hunt. You apply in advance through Georgia DNR, points and odds determine selection, and if you're drawn you get a lower-pressure hunt with a set number of participants. Deadlines vary by species, so apply early.
Bonus hunts
Bonus hunts don't count against your quota applications — they're extra opportunities, often either-sex deer hunts on select WMAs. They're a great way to add days to your season without burning a quota application.
How to find each in TruHunt

Open the Hunts tab and tap Filters.

Under Quick Picks, choose Quota or Bonus, then tap Show Hunts.

In the results, hunts are badged — for example Quota Hunt or Bonus Deer Hunt — and quota hunts show their quota number so you know how many spots exist.

For application deadlines and to submit an application, tap Resources → Quota Hunts to go straight to Georgia Wildlife's official quota hunt page.
Tip: Filter by Quota + your species + This Season to build a shortlist of applications worth submitting.
